FOOD

Bocadillo de Calamares

Bocadillo de Calamares

Bocadillo de Calamares is one of Madrid’s most beloved street foods. This simple yet delicious sandwich features crispy fried squid rings served in a fresh, crusty baguette. Often enjoyed with a squeeze of lemon or a light sauce, it is a local favorite, especially around Plaza Mayor, offering an authentic taste of Madrid.

Titaina

Titaina

Originating from Valencia’s maritime neighborhood of Cabanyal, tomato, pepper and pine nut pisto are combined with fine bonito mojama (tuna fish) to produce a traditional stew; the dish can be eaten hot if you have it right after cooking, but it is more common to eat it cold.

Ensalada Malagueña

Ensalada Malagueña

This unique salad combines potatoes, oranges, salt cod, onions and olives, all dressed with excellent olive oil; the mix of sweet and salty flavours works surprisingly well; it is often served cold and makes a great light lunch—especially in warmer months.
